Nica Fazio is an artist born in 1998 in Sicily, Italy, and raised in Barcelona, Spain. Nica grew up in an Italian family, following the southern traditions of the island while also being surrounded by Spanish and Catalan culture.

For Nica, writing music and photography have always been her go-to forms of expression. They help her communicate feelings and thoughts in a way that mirrors how memories work. The idea that "today is already a memory" resonates deeply with her. It drives her to capture moments in a raw and imperfect way, reflecting how we remember things—like when you try to remember someone you met one night.

Nica's photography is all about capturing those fleeting moments and how we recall them. Her work embraces the beauty of imperfection and the transient nature of memories, inviting viewers to reflect on their own experiences and create a connection. In 2021, she had her first exhibition at La Nau Bostik in Barcelona, showcasing portraits of strangers kissing in nightclubs. She is currently working on a new long-term photography project for her next exhibition. For Ink Archives, she photographed Noel García, a tattoo artist and dancer. She knew Noel’s work through Isabel Padilla, who had a tattoo done by her. Nica wanted to know Noel and capture her personality through her movements while creating an open and communicative space. She believes that photographing someone is another way to connect and communicate, with the same intensity or even more than when you unexpectedly meet someone and end up talking for hours and hours, feeling that click of connection.
